Voice Reader Text to Speech App Reviews

Great offline voices, very accurate. Tried Danish, French, Spanish. Use it daily to read New York Times articles in English. Archives text instantly. Also creates m4a files to listen to in my car. Schools should be buying this all over the world.

I really dislike this application. The item only works online for a limited amount of characters and the description makes it seem like you can work offline and change to different languages when in fact they want you to buy more stuff for each of those features, not to mention how slow it works when preparing the document to be read.

I could not use this ap. Total waste of money. I deleted it the first day and called Apple. No refunds even when apps dont work, are miss leading... I think that the fact that they want more money for you as soon as you use the product constitutes fraud. Just sayin see "all reviews" before you spend your money. I am black listing developers.

This is a great little app I use it weekly, just wish some pronunciation was a little clearer.

This app is great, processing hole files and the option to save the voiced file makes it a killer.

This app does everything it promises to do, with a clear interface thats easy to master. The only difficulty is that you have to open docs from other apps by going through those other apps. Works fine with Pages,

I was disappointed buying this. I read online that it keeps PDF formatting but it doesnt. There is no control will reading a PDF. Get voice dream or natural reader instead.

Could be better. Really, I think the only complaints I have are bugs. Like, for instance, it tends to be VERY difficult to scroll. It always wants to go back to the curser after about one second of scrolling, which is a pain. And the voice will randomly insert things in between sentences every now and then and say things such as "e e e @ e e and e @ e" or " the Count of Monte Cristo et don Quixote [incomprehensable] et Los Animagus." The former occurs more often than the latter, but they are both quite aggravating. But its a generally good reader and I like that I can listen offline.

This is by far the most important app that every sales person should have. It gives me the ability to maximize my efficiency when driving. Who had time to read white papers anymore anyway?

In order for the app to read anything of significant length, you must purchase additional offline voices. This is BS for spend more money for it to work. This is completely dishonest.

I tried this and its competitor Natural Reader. I prefer this because: 1) it will work offline - a great plus for me 2) I prefer it voice (I found even paid Natural Reader voices to still be too mechanical-sounding. I knocked off one star because it mangles some punctuation, so before I load a doc I will edit out any suspect punctuation so it reads correctly... Especially, you need to get rid if hyphens and semi colons or it will pronounce them! However, I can tolerate this apps voice, which is the biggest draw for me.

It copies text from a PDF - sounds like a robot & costs you more money for larger documents with text. Pass on this app! I want my money back!!

Reads well but instructions are lacking. I would also like to be able to "bookmark" where I stopped reading In a longer document, and let the app find that place to start when I reopen the program or allow me to open, read, and bookmark another ebook. Thanks! This allows me to "get my reading done" while doing other things.

You cant listen to write-protected books, even though I borrowed it from a library. Itd be nice if they said this before you fork out the money. Voice Over would probably work, but Im not getting into that hellacious mess again.

Best app around for those who dont have time to read or prefer voice over print..after downloading one professional English womans voice, Ive been listening to a lot of good articles and/or writings on the net. Had problems with Opera for iPhone but safaris ability to copy all makes it a breeze to cut and past text. Save as text which uses the least amount of data. Reads and speaks PDFs.. I also use a jailbroken app called monosb which allows all audio on iPhone to be heard on bluetooth headset. Slick program..no one thinks you are being a rude youngster walking about with those omnipresent white subtly flashing name dropping conspicuous consumption apple headphones... Unless you tend to hum to yourself while listening to music;p enjoy, get it. UPDATE: 11/11/14 I upgraded my iPhone to the six and I was having problems saving audio files. I texted the support at Linguatech, and they responded promptly and gave me advice to address a memory issue with my phone. Great support deathly recommend this product now! "Please close the Voice Reader in the multitasking bar. Therefore double-tap on the home button. This will bring up the multitasking display, showing your "recently used" apps. Press and move the screenshot of the desired app towards the top of your screen. Restart Voice Reader. Before creating an audio file please change the settings in the menu “settings” > “Save audio” > “Format” and “Quality” to: a) WAV b) 16 kHZ or 8 kHz Does it work now? If yes, the reason is a problem with the memory on your device. What you could also check: Please synchronize all audio and text files which you stored in Voice Reader with your iTunes on your PC / Mac. Then delete the entries in the menu “open in” via “Edit” and “Delete”. After this: please try again to save an audio file

by Theophilus The app reads quite well in English and Spanish. The dowloaded voices work well. BUT, and this is VERY SERIOUS: IT CAN NOT RECORD AUDIO FILES. When you put the Open in for audio wav or mp4 nothing happens. Just blank. Before A window appeard saying that probably there is not enough memory space. Well I got 30 gigas of free memory space. So that can not be the real reason. Its a piety. Up to now it seems a lie that in can record audio files? No record, no open in.... what a waste! Besides, in the web page you offer a larger variety of Spanish accents, such as colombian, argentinian...could you not add such offer for your ipadversion?

Im using this app and sharing the audio (wav) to other App (Twistedwave) with the open in option, and works great. I just can suggest more english and Spanish voices.

If you have trouble creating audio, try switching audio format to wav in the settings of the program.

Will not save audio... Says not enough memory when I actually have GIGABYTES of memory available... No bueno

Bad restructuring of reading materials. Reading is not understandable. Very Expensive voice app that is purely unclear. What a disappointment!
